It's Review Time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Okay, I haven't done a book review in a really long time (I got bored) but I'm going to do one now.
The book is called Nightshade by Andrea Cremer. Picture time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Nightshade (Nightshade, #1) Nightshade (Nightshade, #1)
I give this book 4 stars out of five! It takes A LOT to get five out of five from me, but this book was really good (though I did get bored in a few parts.) I freaking love the covers though! The hardcover one (the first) is so pretty and the lilies are a metaphor for what's in the book (read it!). The paperback version (to the right) represents the werewolves and how they are definitely not the kind from Twilight (these are man eating). I can't decide which one is my favorite. What's yours?
Summary!!!!!!!!!!
Calla Tor has always known her destiny: After graduating from the Mountain School, she'll be the mate of sexy alpha wolf Ren Laroche and fight with him, side by side, ruling their pack and guarding sacred sites for the Keepers. But when she violates her masters' laws by saving a beautiful human boy out for a hike, Calla begins to question her fate, her existence, and the very essence of the world she has known. By following her heart, she might lose everything- including her own life. Is forbidden love worth the ultimate sacrifice?
This is not an ordinary werewolf story.
Hardcover, 452 pages

Okay, here's my actual review!
The book was freaking awesome with the ever so popular werewolves unlike any wolves you've read about in the past few years (ever since Twilight came out). First off, these werewolves are bad-a**! They actually stick up for themselves and aren't afraid to kick each other's butts. Also, when they shift back and forth, their clothes don't rip to shreds which is a prospect I appreciate (do you know how much that would cost?).

Calla, being alpha, wasn't afraid to back down to anyone even when she started to have doubts. Some love triangle action in here by the way! The two guys Calla is vying for aren't going to lose to one another and its this equal love kind of thing. Some people might want Calla to just choose someone (I vote for Shay!) but it's all a part of the lure which this book definitely has. It had tons of action and adventure and revolt that I almost couldn't put it down (sadly I had to with my classes). It got boring in some parts when things were kind of hard to understand especially the history part though this book ended with a cliffhanger that I couldn't wait to get the sequel. By the way, I have the sequel! I'm reading it right now! Yay!!!
The one bad thing about this book to me was that Calla kept saying that she was the all-mighty alpha and that she had awesome girl power (we need more of that people!), but Calla always let Ren have his way with her. Even though it was stated in the book numerous times (mostly by Shay) that Ren was a player, Calla never pushed him away. It got a little steamy in some parts, but it's so obvious who Calla should go with! To Ren she feels lust and to Shay she feels love. Calla may be able to protect herself, but she seriously needs to reconsider what's right and what's wrong. Even if the rules your family has had for generations are what everyone else believes to be as salvation, but are actually wrong and twisted, you should fight back no matter what. It's wrong to choose the twisted road when you know it's better off on the bright road. Calla needs to fight back and not subject to a marriage she doesn't want!
In conclusion, an awesome book! Sequel here I come!
P.S- here's a picture of the sequel. Personally, I prefer the first book's cover. What do you think?
Wolfsbane (Nightshade, #2) Wolfsbane (Nightshade, #2) Wolfsbane (Nightshade, #2) Though I do like the paperback one (the third) the best out of the three.
Here's the third book's picture too coming out 2012! Man, am I behind!
Bloodrose (Nightshade, #3) Bloodrose: Nightshade Series
What did you read today???
